After looking through hundreds of pictures, I'm finally ready to share Livy's special day- hope you enjoy:)
As guests arrived on the big day, they were treated to a "Minnie Mouse" path...
...simply created with sidewalk chalk:)
Olivia, decked out in her handmade
T-shirt &
skirt, was ready to greet friends- and yes, she insisted on wearing sports socks with her sandals:/
I utilized everything I could imagine in the party decor, including our giant "M" that usually sits on the mantle- who knew having such a long last name could be so handy:)
The antique screen was festooned with streamers & balloons...
...and an autographed picture of Minnie Mouse:)
Our huge eye sore of a television was topped with a scalloped metal display board (Hobby Lobby clearance) showcasing one of the handmade party invites (courtesy of
Gramma!) & Livy's Minnie Mouse handbag.
The mantle has become our traditional place to showcase favors, including
DIY favor bags awaiting pinata treasure...
...peppermints, nestled near this handmade crocheted hat, courtesy of Auntie Leah...
...handmade Minnie Mouse coloring books (post with details to follow next week!)...
...and crayons bundles wrapped in white yarn:)
Another wall housed this polka dot bulletin board that I scored at the PB outlet for $2.97!
Small paper plates were added to make "ears", a tissue paper bow was added and a handmade mini pennant:)
And to cover our hideous thermostat...
...I transformed a plain white canvas with a chalkboard adhesive (gratis from
Gramma!) and a tissue paper bow, pointing to our
handmade "ears"!
And no nails in the wall- I was pretty chuffed!
...which added a lovely festive touch:)
Guests were then encouraged to head over...
...to the window seat where Mickey was awaiting happy faces...
...to receive some
DIY face paint- Auntie Leah did a fantastic job painting Mickey heads & red hearts!

While faces of every size were being painted, guests were encouraged to enjoy some playtime.
I set out 2 small tables with select toys- less is more:)
Hope mastered the Mickey Mouse laptop...
...while Olivia worked on a Mickey Mouse puzzle...
...Reed tackled the Mr. Potato head, complete with Disney accessories...
...Livy assembled a birthday cake...
...and Benjamin worked on the cupcakes:)
Cade, a little cherub, was content to chill out...
...while "Aunt Tole" covered teething therapy with Rosebud:)
Jonah snuck in the violin (not one of the designated toys for play!)...
...while Scarlett commandeered the giant Mickey & Minnie Mouse!
It was great to see the kids enjoying playtime with some classic toys...
...and the birthday girl was having a blast!
